Custom Structures

From time-to-time FDS is tasked with creating products which have a very specific purpose.  Although the intended applications of these products deviate from that of our floating docks or fishing piers, we believe our unique design standards provide an ideal foundation for many alternative marine structures.  As is the case with most offerings on our website, the following few items represent only a cross-section of this category.

Floating Jet Ski Docks

Algae growth on a vessel's hull and transom is directly related to its duration in the water- this becomes of particular concern with regard to jet skis.  Algae growth (even in minor amounts) can have a significant impact on speed and maneuverability, the two most important characteristics of modern day personal water crafts.  Although several competing products exist to address this issue, nearly all of them require dismounting and a hand-crank hoist.  Our floating jet ski docks employ a "drive on, and shove off" concept, eliminating virtually all hassle.

Work Barges

Designed using the same monocoque construction and rigid framework found in our floating docks and fishing piers, FDS work barges offer a sturdy yet cost effective alternative to traditional steel and pontoon barges.  Available in varying sizes and configurations, the incorporation of hoists and lifts may be elected when a more industrial-oriented application is necessary.

Swim Rafts

With virtually every square inch receiving buoyancy lift, FDS swim rafts offer considerably more stability than traditional barrel or tub supported rafts.  This 'uniform buoyancy' concept greatly reduces uneven freeboard loss as asymmetrical loads are applied- a common issue with many swim rafts.  If so desired, a zero-entry point may be incorporated, allowing seamless access to the water.

Nature Viewing Service

Used as water traversing walkways, our docks offer a unique way to experience nature.  Either opening up to a fishing platform, or simply used in unison with a hiking trail, our products create a catwalk with a natural feel and offer the ability to span marshlands and protected environments that would otherwise be inaccessible to the general public.
